The project involved developing a snap-fit latching mechanism designed to prevent animals from accessing commercial outdoor cooking equipment. Through numerous static stress simulations, a minimalistic, lightweight, yet resilient design was achieved, capable of enduring substantial side-loading. The final parts were 3D printed in PETG-CF, adding stiffness and creating exceptionally strong parts relative to their size.
